The organisation delivers longterm engineering, integration and sustainment services across highly regulated environments, offering a stable and technically challenging workplace. Your new role Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will lead the electrical engineering discipline, providing technical leadership and delivery oversight across complex platforms. This role combines handson electrical engineering with people leadership, stakeholder engagement and design assurance across multiple system interfaces.Key responsibilities include: Leading the electrical engineering function across complex platforms and projects Providing technical authority across electrical systems including: Electrical plant (generators, motors) Power distribution, protection systems and switchboards Cabling and installation systems Control systems and IPMStype platforms Power conversion equipment, batteries and lighting systems Alarm, monitoring and warning systems Applying robust systems engineering processes to electrical system design and integration Leading design coordination activities, technical investigations and root cause analysis Overseeing the development and review of engineering documentation, including designs, analyses, reports and installation work packages Planning and coordinating engineering activities from concept through to delivery Leading and mentoring engineers within the electrical discipline Chairing design coordination and design review meetings with internal and external stakeholders Liaising with customers, suppliers, regulators and assurance bodies as required Ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulations and quality requirements Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated outcomes What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have:Tertiary qualifications in Electrical EngineeringSignificant experience in electrical engineering roles within complex or regulated environmentsProven experience leading and managing engineering teamsStrong background in electrical system design and integrationExperience working in configuration controlled, standards driven environmentsAbility to review and approve technical designs and engineering documentationExperience with CAD tools and standard engineering softwareStrong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to operate autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver under pressureEligibility to obtain and maintain NV1 security clearance What you'll get in return A senior technical leadership role supporting complex, highvalue assetsOpportunity to influence electrical design strategy and integration outcomesLongterm role with stability and professional development opportunitiesCompetitive salary package aligned to experienceA collaborative, professional engineering environment What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to Holly.Powell@hays.com.au , or call us now.
