As we continue our multi-brand, multi-country digital expansion, we are looking for a Development Lead – Cloud Engineering to steer our high-transaction eCommerce platforms into the next era of cloud-native excellence. The Opportunity This isn't just a management role; it’s a hands-on technical leadership position. You will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, secure eCommerce solutions across our entire digital ecosystem. You’ll bridge the gap between architecture and delivery, ensuring our platforms remain resilient during high-traffic retail events. What You’ll Be Doing Engineering Leadership: Lead the full-stack development of our multi-brand eCommerce websites, setting coding standards and architectural patterns. Full-Stack Design: Provide hands-on guidance across Frontend, Backend, and BFF (Backend-for-Frontend) layers using Next.js, React, NestJS, and Node.js . Cloud Evolution: Design and operate cloud-native solutions (AWS preferred) with a focus on scalability, caching strategies, and CDN optimization. Security & Compliance: Ensure world-class handling of payments and PII, integrating WAF and secure API designs. Collaboration: Work closely with product and platform teams to reduce integration defects and evolve our technical roadmaps. What You Bring Experience: 12–15 years in software engineering, with a proven track record in leadership and large-scale eCommerce or high-transaction platforms. Tech Stack: Mastery of TypeScript, Node.js, and React ., Java, NestJS Cloud Mastery: Solid experience with AWS or GCP , including Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB, and CI/CD pipelines and observability of backend services Experience with caching strategies, performance optimisation, and scalability patterns across frontend and backend layers Architectural Depth: Deep understanding of BFF architectures, microservices, and event-driven patterns.
