The Role: Reporting to the CFO, you will own end-to-end Australian payroll (fortnightly) and coordinate New Zealand payroll with an outsourced provider. You will also play a key role in improving processes and helping the payroll function mature, particularly within Workday Payroll . Key responsibilities Process end-to-end Australian payroll (fortnightly) ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance Manage payroll lifecycle transactions including new starters, changes, and terminations , with accurate final pay calculations Administer leave including annual, personal, long service leave and other entitlements in line with legislation and policy Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries, providing clear and timely advice to employees and managers Ensure compliance with payroll obligations including PAYG, superannuation, STP, record keeping and payslip requirements Coordinate NZ payroll with the outsourced provider, ensuring data accuracy, approvals, reconciliations and issue resolution Support payroll tax preparation and reconciliations (monthly/annual) in collaboration with Finance Prepare payroll journals and reconcile payroll-related GL accounts (wages, PAYG, super, payroll tax, provisions) Produce regular and ad hoc reports (headcount, overtime, leave liabilities, cost centre reporting) Contribute to continuous improvement : documenting processes, improving controls, and leveraging system capability (Workday) Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications 5 years’ end-to-end Australian payroll experience (mid-sized organisation 400 employees preferred) Workday Payroll experience (highly regarded / preferred) Knowledge of NZ payroll is beneficial, or willingness to learn while coordinating with a provider Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation: PAYG, superannuation, STP, record-keeping and payslip obligations Exposure to state-based obligations such as payroll tax and long service leave requirements Confident Excel skills and strong payroll systems capability Proactive, solutions-focused and able to work independently Strong attention to detail, confidentiality and sound judgement Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills Ready to become a KSS Team member What are you waiting for, click on “apply now” to start your journey into space.
