As a Database Developer at Australian Retirement Trust, you will play a key role in designing, developing and supporting enterprise-grade database solutions that underpin critical member and business services. Working closely with technology and data stakeholders, you will ensure ART’s SQL Server databases are secure, high-performing and aligned with best practice standards. Key responsibilities include: Designing, developing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure efficient, secure and reliable data access Providing technical guidance and support to other DBA and development team members to help meet shared objectives Designing, implementing and supporting data movement solutions across multiple platforms and data sources Supporting day-to-day database activities, including development support, testing and low-environment job streams Writing clear, detailed technical and support documentation to enable effective ongoing support and operational handover Following established system development lifecycle and change management processes, including source control, versioning, defect tracking and release management Performing unit-level testing and quality assurance to ensure solutions meet business, technical and operational requirements Participating in out-of-hours release and deployment support on a rostered basis We currently have two roles available, and these roles are permanent opportunities. Location: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases, including performance, availability and support considerations Strong database development experience across the full system development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, data analysis, testing and release management Hands-on experience designing, reviewing and maintaining SSIS solutions for data integration and movement Proven ability to design and modify database structures, schemas and application logic to meet business needs Solid understanding of change management practices, including source code control, branching, versioning and release processes Experience producing high-quality technical and support documentation that enables effective operational support The ability to collaborate effectively with developers, DBAs and senior stakeholders, providing clear technical guidance where required A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline, or equivalent extensive industry experience Experience in the superannuation or financial services sector and relevant Microsoft SQL Server certifications will be highly regarded.
