Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Incident Intake Officer will be a member of a dynamic team supporting the intake, triage, documentation, response and reporting of incidents in ACT schools. The successful applicant will be suited to a dynamic work environment and demonstrate agility in supporting the team through peak periods in the management of highly complex and sensitive matters. Matters received by the Incident Intake Officer may range from more expected incidents in a school environment (student injury from a playground incident) to higher impact incidents that may involve emergency services agencies and require escalation and coordination of significant supports and actions. Matters may also be general enquiries from schools relating to supports required from across the Education Support Office (ESO). To be successful in this role, applicants will need to be highly organised with attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands in a highly demanding environment. The officer will be exposed to highly complex and sensitive matters requiring resilience, emotional regulations skills, a strong sense of self awareness and transparent communication. The officer may be required to work across the branch in response to operational or other requirements.
