The positions are expected to begin in the second semester of 2026. About the role As a VE Teacher in ICT – Cybersecurity and Networking, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of technology professionals. You will deliver engaging, industry-aligned training and assess competency-based learning in line with national training package requirements. Key responsibilities include: Delivering training across face-to-face, online, and blended modes Designing and assessing competency-based learning Providing academic and pastoral support to students Contributing to curriculum design and assessment validation Engaging with industry partners to maintain currency and relevance Participating in compliance processes aligned with ASQA standards Essential Skills & Experience Teaching & Assessment: Demonstrated experience in competency-based assessment Understanding of ICT and Cyber Security training packages Ability to diagnose learning challenges and implement solutions Strong interpersonal and communication skills Cybersecurity & Technical Expertise Candidates should demonstrate experience in: Penetration testing and vulnerability assessment Incident response and SOC operations Cybersecurity tools such as Kali Linux, Wireshark, Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite SIEM platforms and cloud security environments (Azure/AWS) Cybersecurity frameworks including ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, Essential Eight, OWASP, CIS Controls Practical engagement in platforms such as Root Me (CTF environments) Preferred Industry Certifications ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor Certified Information Security Officer (CISO) CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security, CCNA/CCNP Azure Security Engineer or AWS Security Specialty Additional Attributes Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing Experience mentoring students in CTFs or applied industry projects Strong compliance awareness (ASQA standards and validation processes) Continuous professional development and industry engagement Qualifications Certificate IV Training & Assessment as a minimum Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
