Accounts Payable Officer - Newcastle, NSW ASR Recruitment is partnering with a well-established national professional services organisation to appoint a permanent, full-time Accounts Payable Officer to join their finance team in Newcastle. This position plays a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of creditor payments while supporting the broader finance function. The organisation prides itself on quality, precision and strong client relationships and this role is central to maintaining those standards. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for the end-to-end accounts payable function while also providing cross-functional support across payroll and accounts receivable when required. This role suits someone who enjoys accountability, accuracy and working within a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Timely and accurate processing of creditor invoices and supplier payments Processing credit card transactions, including accruals and FBT considerations Bank reconciliations and processing of bank entries Processing client refunds Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations Managing client and supplier account enquiries via phone and email Maintaining integrity of financial and operational system data Supporting payroll and accounts receivable activities as required Ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and delegation frameworks About You 3 years’ experience in a similar finance role Strong accounts payable experience with high accuracy and attention to detail Payroll exposure (desirable) or willingness to be cross-trained Confident user of MS Excel and finance systems Clear and professional communication skills Strong organisational and time management capability Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a small team What’s on Offer Permanent, full-time role Hybrid working model – 2 days from home, 3 days in office Flexible start finish times Stable and established national organisation Supportive leadership and collaborative team culture Opportunity to broaden exposure across payroll and receivables If you are an experienced Accounts Payable professional looking to join a high-quality, professional environment with flexibility and long-term stability, we would love to hear from you.
