About us: Rockhampton Hospital is the largest hospital in Central Queensland and the main referral hub for the region. A number of exciting initiatives are underway including the construction of a new multi-level car park. Once complete, it will provide 597 parking spaces for staff, patients and visitors to the hospital. About the role: Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. Provide an effective, efficient and comprehensive administrative support service, ensuring that duties undertaken are completed within determined timeframes and in accordance with established procedures. Provide client focussed reception and telephone response services. Assist in the management of efficient client and general filing systems. Use of various data entry and computer based systems expertise in Microsoft Office programs. Work cooperatively and effectively within the team and with patients/clients. About you: While not mandatory, past administrative experience will be highly regarded. To provide high quality efficient and effective administrative support within the Elective Surgery Booking Office Rockhampton Hospital. This includes first point contact for incoming calls, patient correspondence, medical record management, waitlist auditing and general patient follow up. Demonstrated clerical and administrative skills of a high standard including the ability to use word processing and other computer-based systems. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, incorporating the ability to liaise and consult with all levels of staff, the public and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters appropriately. Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
