About the Role The successful candidate is expected to be highly proficient in the interrogation and manipulation of large complex datasets to identify and report on emerging risks. They will undertake range of duties including: Data analysis and reporting, including preparation and presentation of high-quality analysis and reports to inform decision makers Data extraction, collection and maintenance Supply business intelligence reports including identifying trends, patterns and forecasting Assist in the development of business systems and processes Conduct compliance audits and report findings Assist in the oversight and reporting of regulatory compliance activities Provide timely responses to ad hoc data requests Support national and VECRA IT systems and database Undertake work and tasks contributing to the broader business activity and remit of the business unit and branch About the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating early childhood education and care services in Victoria. VECRA works to ensure the safety, wellbeing and development of children through effective regulation, compliance, quality assessment and continuous improvement across the early childhood sector. VECRA plays a critical system management role, providing guidance, oversight and assurance to the sector while supporting high-quality early childhood education outcomes for Victorian children and families. About the Branch The Governance & Corporate Support Branch provides VECRA with essential corporate, governance and business support services. The Branch oversees risk management, performance reporting, finance, human resources, business planning, Freedom of Information, and key compliance projects. It maintains VECRA's governance frameworks, ensures legislative and regulatory obligations are met, and supports organisational capability, workforce planning and culture. Attributes Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving capability Highly proficient with information management systems and technology including analytical tools Highly data-literate Ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders, with strong communications skills Innovative and agile Works collaboratively Desirable Qualifications and Experience Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in data analysis, information management technology, mathematics, statistics, or equivalent. Qualifications and/or experience in PowerBI, Excel, SQL, SharePoint, Access, SPSS, SAS, and Visual Basic Previous experience working in a regulatory environment would be highly regarded.
