About the position: The City of Greater Geraldton is seeking an Administrative Support Officer to join the friendly team in the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This newly created position is offered on a part time (0.6FTE) 6 month fixed term contract basis and will be responsible for providing administrative support by applying sound knowledge of office procedures and providing high quality service to Councillors and customers. Key accountabilities: Provide administrative support to the Personal Assistant, Executive Support Secretary and Office of the CEO using tools such as Microsoft Office and the City’s record keeping system Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including answering phone calls and email correspondence Ensure Council Chambers and the Function Room are properly prepared for meetings, maintained in a clean and orderly condition, and reset to the established standard after use Maintain the Councillor Help Desk register and ensure logs are accurate and managed in a timely manner Assist with small event planning and setup and other requests for support as directed Assist with the production of Agendas and Minutes, and distribution of such documents in a timely manner For further information and to view the position description, visit www.cgg.wa.gov.au/employment. Position requirements: The successfully applicant will ideally have a Certificate II in Business Administration, or willingness to work towards, together with developing administrative general knowledge and skills. Additional training or higher studies in office environment activities are highly desirable. An ability to take directions and work cooperatively in a small team environment together with demonstrated values of service, trust, accountability, respect and solidarity. Anticipated working days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with start and finish times to be negotiated with the successful candidate, up to a maximum of 22.8 hours per week. Remuneration and benefits: The Administrative Support Officer position has a salary starting from $66,298 per annum pro rata or $33.55 per hour, offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications. The City is open to considering candidates within a wide range of knowledge, skills, experience and qualification, and a highly experienced and qualified candidate may be selected to commence at a higher range, up to $76,072 per annum pro rata or $38.50 per hour.
