APS6 and EL1 Complex Procurement Officer 12-month contract, with a possible 12‑month extension NV1 Clearance required April/May proposed commencement date The Role Our government client is seeking a highly proactive procurement officer with strong expertise in contract and procurement management. In this role, you'll be responsible for planning, delivering and managing complex end‑to‑end government procurements, and associated contract management activities. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage complex, end‑to‑end procurement activities in line with legislation, rules and procurement frameworks. Conduct market research, prepare procurement documentation, support evaluations and negotiate with suppliers through to contract award. Provide proactive procurement and contract management advice to stakeholders. Manage AusTender publishing requirements and maintain accurate procurement records. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, resolving contract issues, variations, disputes and risks. Oversee contract performance, extensions, renewals and close‑out. Prepare and manage simple and complex contracts, including MOUs, using standard contracting suites. Analyse markets, suppliers and categories to support procurement planning. Support stakeholder engagement and communication related to procurement and contract management changes. Deliver procurement reporting, risk assessments and mitigation strategies. Maintain corporate records, filing systems and shared mailboxes. Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and value‑for‑money outcomes. Provide operational and strategic support to management on procurement and contract matters. Key Capabilities Strong working knowledge of government procurement frameworks. Significant experience (5 years) delivering complex, end‑to‑end government procurement activities. Demonstrated contract management experience, including use of standard contracting suites. Ability to analyse markets, suppliers and service categories to inform procurement approaches. Relevant qualifications in procurement and/or contract management, preferably in a government context. Desired Capabilities Experience with procurement or contract management systems such as SAP.
