Queensland Government Consulting Services (QGCS) a division of Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC) is seeking multiple Directors to join our newly established consultancy. Reporting to an Executive Director you will be responsible for shaping project opportunities, leading multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high quality consulting engagements across Queensland government departments. You will bring deep expertise in one or more of QGCS’s targeted core service offerings and be comfortable leading large, complex assignments involving senior stakeholders, cross agency environments, and multifaceted commercial or policy projects. This role is perfect for an experienced consulting or advisory leader who thrives in a purpose driven environment and enjoys mentoring teams, building trusted client relationships, and delivering work that has real value for Queensland’s future. What you’ll do Lead and scope new consulting opportunities , managing a forward pipeline of QGCS engagements. Oversee project delivery , ensuring work is delivered on time, to scope, and to a high professional standard. Build and maintain strong executive level relationships with client agencies. Lead engagement with senior stakeholders on large and complex assignments, often involving sensitive or high-risk issues. Provide clear, effective leadership to project teams and contribute to broader QGCs and QTC leadership initiatives. Coach, mentor, and develop team members , supporting capability uplift across the Division. Ensure high quality Board and committee papers and executive reporting. What you bring Strong financial and commercial acumen to navigate complex client issues and risks. Advanced strategic, analytical, and governance capability . Ability to explain complex financial, policy or commercial concepts in clear, persuasive language . Awareness of the political and organisational landscape within government environments. A passion for building team capability and supporting others to succeed. Ability to scope, lead and deliver complex consulting assignments. Tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Economics, Public Policy or a related field. Proven experience leading complex advisory or project delivery, ideally involving government or public sector stakeholders. Strong leadership experience in consulting, advisory, or similar environments. Experience in public sector consulting or advisory roles. Familiarity with digital tools, data analytics, and contemporary consulting methods.
