About the role: Senior Analyst – Private Tax Location: Perth, WA Due to continued growth in our Private Tax practice, we are seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Perth team, supporting sophisticated private clients across compliance and advisory work. This role is ideal for a technically strong private tax professional who enjoys working with high‑net‑worth individuals (HNWIs), family groups, trusts and privately owned businesses, and who wants to continue building a long‑term career in private tax within a collaborative, people‑focused firm. As a Senior Analyst in our Private Tax team, you will deliver income tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse and complex client portfolio, including family‑owned businesses, private groups, family offices, investment entities, trusts and private companies. Working closely with Partners, Directors, Managers and specialists across the firm, you will apply strong technical knowledge and professional judgement to identify issues early, manage risk and develop practical, commercially grounded solutions. This role offers exposure to challenging and varied client matters, opportunities to deepen your technical capability in private wealth, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to client outcomes and team development. Key Responsibilities Compile and review special purpose financial statements for a range of private entities Prepare and review individual, trust, partnership and private company tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation Manage client compliance calendars, including PAYG instalments, FBT obligations, elections and disclosures Research complex private wealth tax issues and prepare clear, well‑reasoned technical advice and internal papers, including areas such as: Trust taxation and streaming Division 7A and UPEs Small business CGT concessions Main residence CGT complexities Residency and international tax considerations Deliver strategic pre‑year‑end tax planning advice Advise on wealth structuring and asset protection across trusts, companies and investment vehicles Support succession and estate planning and intergenerational wealth transfers in collaboration with legal and financial advisers Act as a key intermediary between Partners, senior leaders and the wider team Build trusted client relationships through proactive communication and a strong understanding of client needs Contribute to internal tax training, technical knowledge sharing and mentoring Assist with ATO reviews, audits, private rulings and dispute matters as required About you: Essential: 2–3 years’ experience in a similar private tax role Strong technical grounding in Australian tax as it applies to private clients Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex matters clearly Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work autonomously while being a collaborative and engaged team member High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive client matters Desirable: Experience working with HNWIs, family offices, trusts and complex private groups Exposure to advisory work beyond compliance, including wealth structuring, succession planning and Division 7A remediation Involvement with ATO reviews, audits or private rulings Experience contributing to internal training or mentoring junior team members Qualifications Commerce degree with an Accounting major (essential) Double degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or Law (desirable) Commenced or near completion of CA or equivalent qualification (desirable) Eligibility to work permanently in Australia is required for this role.
