Role Overview We are seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join our team and act as a bridge between our application developers and our infrastructure. Your primary mission will be to accelerate the software delivery lifecycle by helping application teams onboard their applications onto our standard toolchain. You will be the subject matter expert in migrating code to GitHub, orchestrating builds via Azure DevOps, enforcing quality gates with SonarQube, and managing artifacts using JFrog. Key Responsibilities 1. Onboarding & Migration Work directly with application teams to migrate source code repositories from legacy systems (or local setups) to GitHub. Guide teams through the setup of repository permissions, branching strategies, and protection rules. Assist in the configuration of build and release pipelines specifically tailored to the application's technology stack. 2. CI/CD Pipeline Construction Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO). Create reusable pipeline templates (YAML) to standardize the build process across the organization. Integrate SonarQube into pipelines to automate code quality scanning, vulnerability detection, and quality gate enforcement. 3. Artifact Management Configure pipelines to publish build artifacts (Docker images, NPM packages, JARs, etc.) securely to JFrog Artifactory. Manage artifact retention policies and ensure developers can easily retrieve dependencies from JFrog. 4. Collaboration & Support Act as a consultant to development teams, troubleshooting pipeline failures and configuration issues. Document "How-to" guides and best practices for developers to self-service their onboarding in the future. Required Technical Skills Source Control: Strong proficiency with GitHub (Enterprise preferred), including management of organizations, teams, and webhooks. Orchestration: Extensive experience with Azure DevOps, specifically writing complex YAML pipelines. Code Quality: Experience integrating SonarQube for static application security testing (SAST) and code analysis. Artifact Management: Hands-on experience with JFrog Artifactory (configuring repositories, remote caches, and Xray is a plus). Scripting: Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to automate onboarding tasks. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep). Background in software development (Java, .NET, or Node.js) to better understand developer pain points. Soft Skills Empathy: Ability to understand the challenges developers face when adopting new tools. Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to explain complex DevOps concepts to non-DevOps stakeholders. Problem Solver: A proactive approach to identifying bottlenecks in the delivery process.
