We work to build stronger communities, deliver critical programs and services, and raise funds to provide these services. This is an important role in ensuring that Red Cross can build connected, sharing, and resilient communities. The opportunity Administrative Support volunteers play a pivotal role in the Australian Red Cross. The Community Mobilisation Team works directly with the community to recruit new volunteers and members, and recognise and reward our existing volunteers and members. To make sure we are always reaching the community, our volunteers, and our members where they are, this is a varied role that could include: General administrative support Recognising the valued contributions members and volunteers by administrating the provision service milestones and organising thank-you events Helping to organise and facilitate community events like BBQs and community forums Helping to provide a welcoming space for members of the community to share their time, resources, and passions with us As a member of a small team you will need good organisational skills, well developed computer skills, and great verbal and written communication skills. Community Mobilisation Volunteers will gain valuable skills and experiences in administration and building community capacity and supporting volunteers to improve the world and build the Movement. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world’s largest humanitarian organisation. The impact As a volunteer, you will help support the work of our members and volunteers across Victoria, empowering them to take action locally, and be the face of Red Cross in your community. You will have the opportunity to learn from many people’s diverse history and knowledge, as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to the community. Application requirements For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through the Red Cross. The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check. Red Cross can assist you to apply for this check.
