In this critical role, you will assess complaints, analyse complex information, and provide well-informed recommendations to support decision-making and uphold the integrity of local government. The RoleAs an Assessment Officer, you will:- Assess complaints about councillor conduct in accordance with legislative requirements.- Undertake detailed analysis and provide recommendations on complex matters.- Liaise with stakeholders, including local councils and the public, to ensure transparency and fairness.- Draft detailed and accurate written correspondence to external parties.- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes within the OIA.- Model professional and ethical behaviour in line with the Queensland Public Service Code of Conduct. About YouWe are looking for a results-driven person who:- Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex information critically.- Communicates clearly, succinctly, and professionally across a range of audiences.- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.- Has knowledge or experience in administrative law, local government, or assessments (or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge).
