Description About the role MUFG Pension & Market Services is home to one of Australia’s most experienced Corporate Governance practices. Established in 2006, our team brings together deep, hands-on experience supporting Boards and senior executives across ASX-listed organisations, regulated environments and leading advisory firms. We are seeking a Governance Assistant to support our Senior Company Secretaries within a dynamic and collaborative corporate governance and company secretarial practice. This role is ideal for an aspiring governance professional looking to build a long-term career in corporate governance and board advisory. You will play a critical support role across board coordination, company secretarial administration and practice operations, working closely with experienced practitioners, clients and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities Board Coordination & Governance Support Coordinate Board and Committee meetings, including collating and preparing board papers Assist with drafting minutes, announcements, regulatory documents and reports Conduct research on governance and regulatory developments Support the preparation and submission of company secretarial reports Company Secretarial Administration Maintain statutory registers and governance records Manage governance databases and electronic board portals (e.g. Diligent Boardbooks) Provide local agent services and administrative support for clients Regulatory & Compliance Support Prepare and lodge documentation with ASIC, ASX and ATO Assist with compliance monitoring and governance best practice initiatives Ensure confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive client information Team & Practice Support Provide administrative and operational support to the Corporate Governance team Assist with drafting governance documentation such as charters, notices and constitutions Support junior team members and contribute to a collaborative team environment About you You are detail-oriented, proactive and genuinely interested in corporate governance. You enjoy working in a professional services environment and thrive when supporting senior practitioners and engaging with a range of stakeholders. You will bring: Experience in a company secretarial, legal, finance or governance-related role Exposure to working with Boards and senior executives Experience in a consulting, advisory or regulated environment Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities High attention to detail and sound judgment Confidence working with governance systems and electronic record-keeping A collaborative mindset and strong professional communication skills What’s it like to work here?
