Production Planner – Drive Daily Operations & Innovate for the Future About the Role Reporting to the Production Planning Team Lead, this contract opportunity will see you manage daily production scheduling for selected job‑shop lines, coordinate domestic inventory movements to meet customer and production needs, and collaborate across teams to ensure smooth operations and aligned delivery expectations. You’ll also support the modernization of planning processes and systems while positioning yourself for future leadership opportunities within the supply chain team. Key Responsibilities include: Production Monitoring Analyze performance and status of assigned production lines. Attend daily manufacturing stand-up meetings. Maintain real-time communication with line supervisors. Production Planning & Coordination Respond to production variations (e.g., low efficiencies, resource constraints). Participate in weekly WorkCentre loading and project meetings. Use backorder reports to assess raw material availability. Develop production plans that optimize resources and meet customer demand. Coordinate with Supply Chain, Products, Customer Service, Projects, Warehouse, and Manufacturing teams. Communicate production plans clearly and effectively. Continuous Improvement & Systems Development Identify and implement planning process improvements. Lead the transition from Excel-based planning to ERP (D365) utilization. Explore automation opportunities to streamline workflows. Investigate and apply AI tools for smarter scheduling and forecasting. Support labor planning through ERP system capabilities. Daily Administrative Tasks Reprint outstanding items for in-progress production orders. Release production orders to the warehouse for picking. Collaborate with the admin team to create and manage production folders. What You Will Bring to the Role Experience in production or inventory planning; exposure to MRP and supply chain logistics. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (preferably D365). Shows initiative and leads process improvements; motivated to progress into senior supply chain roles. Systems‑focused: modernizes tools, reduces manual processes, and leverages ERP, automation, and AI. Team‑oriented, adaptable, and able to build strong cross‑functional relationships.
