What you will be doing Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, Event Strategy and Delivery, the Director, Election Readiness is accountable for the planning, preparation and delivery of critical election field operations including resourcing and logistics, election venues, and all other field operations. The role leads teams that have the responsibility for the development and delivery of instructional products and training, and the determination and delivery of all election venues, resources and logistics. This role will be responsible for: Leading planning and delivery of field operations for all electoral events. Managing venue, resourcing and logistics needs for election offices and field sites. Maintaining resourcing and venue allocation tools and processes. Overseeing high‑quality, compliant delivery of all field operations. Sponsoring key work programs for major electoral events. Overseeing teams building capability and readiness of senior election officials and casual staff. Providing expert advice on policies, reports and submissions related to field operations. Managing staff performance and support a culture of continuous improvement. Promoting safety, uphold VEC values, follow all policies and undertake other duties as required. What you will bring to the role Demonstrated ability to provide high‑level strategic advice that delivers business outcomes. Strong analytical and research skills to interpret data, evaluate performance and solve complex problems. Deep knowledge of structured problem‑solving and process improvement methods. Ability to document, model and improve complex business processes, including adapting to legislative change. Proven project management experience with a strong record of delivering results.
