About the role We’re seeking a senior Employee Communications and Change Specialist to shape and deliver Beyond Blue’s internal communication and change approach, supporting enterprise-wide change, employee engagement and organisational alignment. This is a senior individual contributor role, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability across the organisation. The role is accountable for independently identifying communication and change needs, exercising sound judgment on appropriate approaches and sequencing, and initiating activity in response. The role ensures internal communication is deliberate, well sequenced and aligned to organisational priorities, supporting employee understanding, connection to purpose and effective navigation of change. What you’ll be doing Lead and operationalise Beyond Blue’s internal communication approach, ensuring alignment with organisational prioities and strategy. Govern and manage internal communication channels, including the intranet built on SharePoint Online, employee forums, leader communications and related channels, ensuring each is used appropriately and effectively. Oversee the intranet as an enterprise employee knowledge management and employee engagement platform, ensuring information architecture, metadata, navigation, and content lifecycle practices support clarity, accessibility, and reliability. Coordinate and support internal engagement events and forums, including CEO engagement sessions and all-employee forums. Provide senior-level communication counsel to the CEO, Executive, and senior leaders. Develop and maintain communication resources, leader toolkits, and change communication templates. Build capability and support employee engagement across the organisation by proactively equipping leaders and employees with clear, timely and well-sequenced communication and change information that supports understanding of purpose, strategy and priorities. Lead communication planning and delivery for organisational change initiatives. Use insights, analytics and feedback to assess communication and change effectiveness and inform continuous improvement. Write, edit, and review high-quality content across internal channels, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with organisational narrative. Identify and lead storytelling and communication initiatives that connect employees to purpose, strategy, culture and organisational progress. What you’ll bring Extensive experience in internal communication, employee experience, or change communication roles at a senior level. Demonstrated ability to manage complex work, set priorities and deliver high-impact outcomes across multiple stakeholders. Experience governing enterprise intranet or knowledge management platforms. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling capability across a range of formats and audiences. Well-developed planning, sequencing, and prioritisation skills. Experience advising senior leaders and supporting CEO-level communication. Sound judgement in sensitive or high-impact communication contexts. Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience designing, applying or embedding communication governance frameworks. Relevant qualifications in communications, business, organisational development, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience in senior communications or change roles. Formal change management certification such as Prosci or APMG is desirable.
