Solution Architect – Databricks Melbourne (Hybrid) | 7–10 years’ experience About the Role We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to play a key role in the design and delivery of modern data and analytics solutions, with a strong focus on Databricks . In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and delivery teams to define end-to-end solution architectures that enable scalable, high-performing data platforms. You will act as the technical authority across data initiatives, translating business requirements into robust, future-proof technical designs. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end solution architecture for data and analytics initiatives built on Databricks. Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures and design patterns. Define target-state architectures, integration approaches, and data flows across systems. Provide technical leadership across engineering teams, ensuring alignment to architectural standards. Design and govern data platform components including ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics layers. Partner with stakeholders to shape roadmaps, solution options, and implementation strategies. Review designs, provide architectural guidance, and support complex delivery challenges. Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including security, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Required Experience & Skills 7–10 years’ experience in solution or technical architecture roles. Strong hands-on experience designing solutions using Databricks in enterprise environments. Solid background in data platforms, analytics, and cloud-based architectures. Experience with modern data engineering patterns (e.g. lakehouse, ELT/ETL, streaming, batch processing). Strong understanding of cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments. Desirable Experience with tools such as dbt, Spark, Delta Lake, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms.
