About the Role A regional NSW council is seeking a Team Leader Green Spaces to take a hands-on leadership role overseeing the maintenance and presentation of Council-managed parks, streetscapes, facilities, and housing. You will lead a team of three full-time gardeners, providing direction, structure, and support to a team that has not previously had a dedicated on-the-ground leader. Duties Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of three full-time gardeners Develop and implement maintenance schedules and weekly work plans Provide structure and leadership to a team transitioning to a formal supervisory model Proactively manage the maintenance of parks, gardens, and streetscapes Oversee plant health, watering, fertilising, weeding, trimming, and general garden care Coordinate mowing, edging, litter removal, and general grounds maintenance Ensure irrigation systems and Council equipment are operated and maintained safely Requirements Demonstrated people leadership experience, with 1 year or more in a supervisory or team leader role Strong skills in planning, scheduling, supervision, and mentoring staff A proactive mindset with the ability to prioritise visible and high-use public spaces Practical experience in parks, gardens, or green space maintenance Certificate III in Horticulture (or equivalent practical experience) Benefits Meaningful leadership position within a regional council Relocation assistance is available , supporting candidates looking to move regionally and build a long-term future.
