ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Indigeco is supporting a major federal Government organisation to recruit an EL1 Secretariat Manager to lead secretariat support for an Independent Advisory Council and its First Nations Reference Group. This is a senior, influential role supporting governance, stakeholder engagement and culturally safe advisory processes that contribute to national disability policy and outcomes for people with disability, families and carers. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Lead secretariat support for the Independent Advisory Council, including the First Nations Reference Group Build and maintain strong relationships with council members, reference group members and internal stakeholders Coordinate, prepare and distribute meeting papers in line with governance requirements Ensure all documentation is written in plain English and accessible for people with disability Manage meeting logistics including attendance, travel and cultural and disability support requirements Attend online and hybrid meetings to ensure smooth delivery and governance compliance Oversee minutes, action logs and records management Support induction and onboarding of new council and reference group members Contribute to the development and maintenance of governance policies, procedures and guidance Assist with the management of sitting fees and related administrative processes YOUR REQUIREMENTS Strong experience in secretariat management, governance or senior project support roles Demonstrated ability to work with complex stakeholders in sensitive environments Strong written communication skills, including writing in plain English Understanding of culturally safe practices and accessibility requirements Ability to manage competing priorities and work with a high level of autonomy Experience working in, or alongside, government or advisory environments A professional, calm and collaborative approach to leadership and stakeholder engagement YOUR PERKS Opportunity to lead nationally significant advisory and governance work Senior EL1-level contract role with competitive hourly rate Flexible working arrangements and location options Meaningful work supporting First Nations voices and people with disability HOW TO APPLY If you are ready to step into a senior secretariat leadership role and make a meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you.
