We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Project Specialist . This role will lead the improvement and modernisation of Oral Health Victoria’s payroll system. The role will deliver immediate process improvements while supporting a longer-term technology transformation, championing new ways of working and a positive employee experience. Working closely with People & Culture and ICT, and supported by the Transformation Project Manager, the role will suit an energetic, curious connector who can inspire collaboration and drive sustainable, patient-centred change. Your responsibilities will include: Lead payroll and related people systems transformation initiatives, delivering quick wins while driving longer-term system improvements. Identify and implement opportunities for automation and digitisation across payroll and related people systems. Maintain effective payroll operations while developing and embedding new processes and procedures. Research and advise on current and future payroll technologies aligned to organisational strategy. Deliver core project management activities, including planning, risk and stakeholder management, and reporting. Apply and promote agile, modern project management practices and tools across cross-functional teams. Lead, mentor and inspire cross-functional teams across Payroll, HR, Finance and IT to achieve project outcomes. Drive strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration, including with external partners and vendors. Promote a positive employee experience through inclusive, co-designed and well-communicated change initiatives. Lead change management activities to support adoption of new systems and ways of working, embedding continuous improvement and agility. Please click here to view our Position Description for further responsibilities To be successful in this role you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related discipline, with project management capability and/or accreditation. Demonstrated experience in payroll operations and payroll-related projects, including system transformations, implementations, upgrades or process improvements. Experience delivering technology transformation projects using agile or other contemporary project management methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, with high attention to detail. Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g. SAP), Excel, and the MS Office suite. Experience using dynamic project management tools (e.g. Atlassian, MS Project, Trello). Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and facilitate in-person and virtual workshops. Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage expectations and deliver organisational outcomes. Ability to work autonomously, define work plans and meet deadlines.
