The role ensures that the voices of residents, businesses and stakeholders are heard and reflected in Council’s policies, projects, services and advocacy efforts. This role must build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders, deliver practical engagement activities on the ground, facilitate advocacy efforts, and work closely with internal teams to ensure community feedback is effectively captured and integrated into planning and operations. As an Engagement and Advocacy Officer, you will coordinate and deliver a range of engagement activities, including community forums, workshops, surveys, pop-ups and online consultations. You will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of engagement activities and recommend improvements to strengthen future initiatives, while identifying and helping to implement innovative and inclusive ways of connecting and engaging with the community. In this role, you will also support Council’s commitment to transparency and trust-building by closing the loop on engagement activities and clearly communicating outcomes to the community. About You We are seeking an individual who holds a qualification in communications, engagement, public relations or other similar discipline area relevant to this role. You will have the following skills and experience; Demonstrated ability to develop and implement community engagement plans. Excellent research, analytical, and writing and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to positively engage and foster strong professional relationships with key stakeholders and employees. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, and other web-based communications and media tools. Benefits This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.
