About us Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. About the role Help make a real difference in the lives of families impacted by violence. The Family Violence Respondent Practitioner (FVRP) plays a critical role in the Court's response to family violence. Working within a dedicated team alongside the Family Violence Registrar (FVR) and Family Violence Applicant Practitioner (FVAP), you will help enhance the safety of women and children while holding perpetrators accountable for their actions. Key responsibilities include: Conduct court-ordered assessments and refer respondents to programs that promote accountability and behaviour change Provide specialist advice to Magistrates and convey family violence concepts to respondents and stakeholders Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring compliance with privacy and information-sharing requirements Build strong relationships with community agencies to enable effective referrals and support services Contribute to continuous improvement of the Court's family violence response This is a public-facing role based at Court, with occasional travel to other locations for meetings and support. Demonstrated strong experience working with people who have perpetrated family violence.
