About us: The transit lounge provides transfer of patients to the transit lounge in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner. The unit provides a safe and comfortable place for patients to wait for collection and to complete final discharge arrangements. The transit lounge is utilised by patients requiring final treatments, patients waiting transport to other facilities for ongoing care and management excluding patients requiring cardiac monitoring. It is utilised for patients requiring completion of discharge paperwork, patients who cannot be collected by relatives/cares, patients who are travelling by ambulance and patients awaiting inter hospital transfers. About the role: The Transit Lounge Administration Officer provides and maintains a highly responsive and effective administrative support and customer service function to the Transit Lounge. The Administration Officer contributes to patient safety and patient flow by performing a skilled reception and customer service role to patients and visitors attending the Transit Lounge and the Emergency Department, as well as providing an admission, discharge, and administrative support function to assist Nursing, Medical and Allied Health staff in the department whilst maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, emotional resilience, attention to detail and a data quality focus. About you: Proficiency in the application of computerised information systems and applications. Proven ability to act as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team in a highly dynamic environment to deliver high quality services to clients. Demonstrated understanding of privacy and confidentiality principles and how these apply to the role of the Administration Officer role. Well-developed communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with all levels of staff, patients, and the general public.
