With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Community Hospital, Mernda Community Hospital, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg  The Role: The Hospital Coordinator is an experienced nurse with highly developed skills in clinical leadership, clinical practice, problem solving, decision making and communications. The Hospital Coordinator is responsible for the management of hospital operations, clinical and non-clinical emergency situations. They will work with clinicians and managers to coordinate patient flow, bed management and effective workforce allocation. They have a lead role in supporting clinicians to effectively manage patient care, clinical deterioration and progression of care. The Hospital Coordinator will escalate to the Site Manager, Director of Access or Executive on call as required .  To be successful in this role you will have: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife, with AHPRA At least 5 years acute clinical nursing experience  Previous experience working as Bed Manager or Hospital Coordinator  Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving and conflict management skills  Demonstrated ability to lead others and negotiate creative solutions  Ability to utilise both analytical skills and conceptual thinking to identify and resolve issues  Commitment to collaborative practice and life-long learning  Ability to anticipate and assess the impact of changes in utilisation patterns to one part of the system on the overall system  Ability to assess complex situations and make appropriate management decisions  Strong Computer literacy  Ability to demonstrate and implement the principle of Continuous Quality Improvement in relation to service delivery  Demonstration of a positive attitude and commitment to the organization with demonstrated behaviors that reflect the organisationâs values  Able to work under own initiative and demonstrates confidence in leading staff during demand pressures Must be computer literate, able to access and utilise all Northern Health IT systems which are relevant to completion of duties  Next Steps . . .
