Description This role is accountable for generating and securing revenue across all Melbourne Showgrounds venues by sourcing new events and driving repeat business year after year. It also oversees revenue streams related to catering and sponsorship, leading the venue sales team to deliver strong commercial growth and increased returns annually. As a member of the Melbourne Showgrounds leadership team, this role contributes to shaping a high-performance, collaborative team culture. It works closely with the event planning and Food and Beverage Awards teams to position Melbourne Showgrounds as Melbourne's premier destination for large-scale indoor and outdoor events. This role will be centred on outbound event acquisition activity, utilising already existing networks and skills to help drive commercial uplift and deliver results in the short term. The primary objective of this position is to grow Melbourne Royal’s revenue and exceed annual revenue targets through strategic event acquisition, strong industry partnerships, operational excellence and effective leadership.
