This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes. CDSB is currently in negotiations for a certified agreement to cover all CDSB employees. In the meantime, the Core Agreement conditions apply to this position. As the Senior Business Analyst, some of what you will do includes: Consult, liaise and participate with clients, stakeholders and end users in relation to all aspects of business improvement initiatives including the development, review and sign-off of business improvement assessment reports, As Is and To Be business process models and business requirements documentation. Support the end-to-end implementation lifecycle, including user acceptance testing, change readiness, and go-live activities to ensure successful adoption of new processes and systems. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand pain points and co design solutions that improve experience and operational outcomes, including leading workshops relating to business process redesign and process reengineering. Develop specifications of business rules necessary to support business modelling and liaise with technical staff to ensure that business requirements are met. Assist in developing new business proposals, identifying business opportunities, preparing business cases and conducting business and business system analyses. Use data visualisation and analytics tools to support evidence-based decision making and communicate insights to stakeholders. To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: Demonstrated ability to collect, analyse, and interpret data to identify business problems, deliver tangible insights and develop evidence-based solutions. Proven ability to implement improvements in customer-facing environments, understand pain points and co-design solutions that enhance user experience and operational efficiency. Proven ability to lead and facilitate workshops to gather information, define business needs, and develop clear and actionable requirements that support organisational objectives. Demonstrated ability to consult, liaise, and collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders to identify business needs, resolve issues, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations, with strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively and succinctly. Demonstrated experience in working with technical teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications, ensuring solutions align with organisational and stakeholder needs. Experience in using data analytics and business intelligence tools to generate insights and translate them into actionable business improvements.
