Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking an experienced AO5 Engagement Officer to support the delivery of strategic engagement and education initiatives within a large Queensland Government environment. This role will play a key part in delivering limited-life funded programs focused on animal and plant pest and disease preparedness, co-designed behavioural change initiatives, and partnership projects delivered in collaboration with industry peak bodies. Rate: $69.21 per hour super Location: Brisbane (flexible working arrangements negotiable) Contract Length: Full-time until 30 June 2026, with possible extension Key responsibilities include: Supporting the development and delivery of strategic engagement and education projects that strengthen biosecurity preparedness capability and capacity Applying appropriate project management methodologies to ensure project objectives and deliverables are achieved on time and within budget Planning and undertaking assigned project activities, including independently completing tasks and supervising components of work as required Developing high-quality written materials for diverse audiences and communication channels in line with corporate standards Building, maintaining and strengthening internal and external stakeholder relationships to support engagement strategies and effective events Maintaining an understanding of stakeholder interests and social responses to biosecurity issues Applying engagement techniques and audience analytics to support stakeholder mapping and targeted communications Establishing, coordinating and promoting events aligned to project and organisational priorities Prerequisites / Desirable experience: Demonstrated experience delivering engagement, education or communication projects Strong project management experience within complex or multi-stakeholder environments Well-developed written communication skills, with experience producing materials for diverse audiences Ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders Tertiary qualifications in communications, engagement, project management or a related field are highly desirable This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful, high-impact projects that support Queensland’s biosecurity preparedness while working across strategic engagement and partnership initiatives.
