The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is recruiting an experienced criminal lawyer and advocate as a Senior Summary Prosecutor. In that role your key responsibilities will include conducing and appearing in complex Local Court proceedings including bail and arrest, directions hearings, youth prosecutions, preliminary examinations, bail hearings, appeals as well as instructing in the Supreme Court in trials. This is a position for an experienced advocate with hearing experience. To be shortlisted it is essential you can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of criminal law and advocacy, including demonstrated experience running hearings in the lower jurisdictions. Good communication and excellent organisational skills combined with strong interpersonal and analytical skills will put you in good standing.
