Job Description The Inventory Officer operates within the Defence ERP SAP system, focusing on accurate data entry, stock reconciliation, and coordination with logistics teams. The officer works under general direction to maintain inventory integrity and contribute to sustainment planning across Defence platforms. This position will be directed by the Australian Commonwealth (CoA) Supervision. Job Qualifications Inventory Management & Data Integrity Maintain accurate inventory records in the Defence ERP SAP system across multiple warehouses and units. Utilise Asset Inventory Management System (AIMS); Monitor stock levels, movements, and discrepancies to ensure alignment with operational requirements; and Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to validate system data against physical holdings; Configuration & Sustainment Support Assist in tracking and resolving configuration issues, including those related to newly introduced platforms (e.g. M88A2 recovery vehicles, JAB & ABV): Collaborate with engineering and logistics teams to ensure configuration data is correctly reflected in Defence ERP SAP. Demand Planning & Procurement Coordination Support demand forecasting and replenishment planning using SAP tools within the Defence ERP environment: Liaise with procurement officers to ensure timely acquisition of parts and consumables; and Flag unfunded sustainment activities and contribute to prioritization discussions. Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with fleet managers, sustainment planners, and external counterparts to address workforce pressures and inventory constraints: Provide Defence ERP SAP reporting and insights to support decision-making at operational and strategic levels. Reporting & Compliance Generate inventory and financial reports from Defence ERP SAP to support end-of-financial year (EOFY) reviews and budget tracking to ensure compliance with Defence inventory policies, audit standards, and data governance protocols. Essential Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance Security Clearance of NV1 Strong and accurate verbal and written communication skills Expediting and shortage management. Excellent attention to detail with ability to multi-task Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated relevant procurement experience.
