Your duties and responsibilities will be, but not limited to, the following: Daily kitchen operations as outlined by company policies and standards (i.e. checklists, cleaning rosters). All kitchen equipment and utensils are maintained thoroughly by following correct cleaning procedures, and any damage is reported to management immediately. Perform stocktake regularly and stock orderings as required throughout the week Keep positive interactions with both fellow staff members and guests to create a harmonious work environment. Follow the budget set by the manager and be involved in seasonal menu planning Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety requirements, including kitchen cleanliness and staff/customer safety. Kitchen opening, closing and service procedures are executed consistently and correctly Stakeholders (i.e. customers, suppliers and staff) feedback is responded to promptly and constructively. Skills and Qualifications Marketing and retail promotions and programs are effectively executed. All fire evacuation drills are managed and executed, including the complete familiarisation with all exits commonly used by customers, as well as fire escapes. Assist in hiring and training new kitchen staff Other Requirements Must have Certificate IV in commercial cookery Must have a minimum of one year of experience in a commercial kitchen Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a café or restaurant setting Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods Excellent communication and teamwork skills Reliable, punctual, and passionate about producing quality food Food Safety Certificate (preferred but not essential)
