The key duties of the position include The Role Defence Intelligence Group (DIG) and Defence's Space and Cyber Domain are seeking Test and Evaluation (T&E) practitioners or project managers with experience obtaining, analysing and presenting evidence. In this way the successful applicant will be directly contributing to Defence Capability, and its assurance, via assessments of operational effectiveness. The T&E practitioner will determine if capabilities under test meet the design, reflect the functional requirements and satisfy the performance of products or systems required for use. As a T&E practitioner, you will be providing feedback to Capability and Delivery Managers on whether their system is achieving its design goals, functions and performance. Successful candidates will possess an analytical mindset and excellent communication skills. You will: Analyse capability development documents for intelligence capability projects or broader Space and Cyber Capability Realisation Planning documents. Play a key role in DIG Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E). Inform DIG and Defence leadership of risks to achieving Defence missions based on evidence from OT&E of incoming capabilities in the Space and Cyber Domain. The T&E Practitioner will be responsible for: Support the development and implementation of program and project T&E documentation. Produce detailed written reports, test plans/procedures and participating in planning meetings. Work collaboratively as part of a small team of APS, ADF and contracted personnel to support the development, management, and execution of OT&E programs. Present Trial Plans and OT&E outcomes to Project teams and senior leaders. Contribute to development or updated of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they remain fit for purpose for appropriate T&E management and consistent with broader Defence policies. Minimum Negative Vetting (NV) 1 is required, with potential for upgrade to NV2 or Positive Vetting. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. Intelligence Capability Portfolio Support (ICPS) within ICD provides centralised guidance and support across the Intelligence Capability Division projects to ensure success through alignment with Defence priorities and the One Defence Capability System. The T&E team, within ICPS, are responsible for the development and coordination of DIG's T&E program and assure, plan, conduct and support T&E activities to provide objective evidence in order to support capability milestones. This position is based at Brindabella Business Park, ACT. Demonstrate sound decision-making and judgement to provide expert T&E advice. Have knowledge and experience in the planning, conduct and reporting of T&E activities (or transferable experience in obtaining, analysing and presenting evidence) in support of capability milestone declarations. Support strategic direction and clearly articulate goals to achieve program, project and product objectives in accordance with Defence policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with a wide range of ADF members, APS and contractors to provide innovative, outcome-focused solutions and develop and implement plans and processes. Actively manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and collaborate closely with other T&E staff across Defence.
