The Opportunity To develop, implement and monitor an accurate and effective asset management system to ensure Council meets its statutory and community obligations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate Council’s Asset Management Program Lead and maximise performance of the Asset Management team Develop, manage and coordinate asset management systems across all of Council’s operations Provide advice, training and assistance to asset managers in Councils asset management systems and program. Provide advice in the strategic planning of asset maintenance including preparation of maintenance and capital works program Implement, revise, upgrade and maintain Council’s Asset management Plans, procedures and strategies Coordinate the administration of information into the Asset Management System Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage and maintain Council’s asset management program Work collaboratively with the GIS Officer to support the development and improvement of GIS systems Assist with the recording and analysis of various Council wide programs, e.g. traffic counts Develop and maintain the revaluation program of assets and coordinate the annual asset revaluations Contribute to the promotion of the image of the Council and the maximisation of good public relations Liaise with clients, other Council staff, the public, consultants, utility and government authorities in the performance of duties including providing and obtaining information Undertake routine administrative tasks as required by the position e.g. timesheets Assist senior staff to continuously improve work processes and develop new practices as required Participate in training, exercises and response to disaster management and recovery as required Undertake other relevant duties as directed, consistent with skills, competence and training. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCE REQUIREMENTS Compulsory Diploma in Civil Engineering, Asset Management, Accounting, willingness to obtain or relevant experience Queensland ‘C’ class driver’s licence (minimum requirement – provisional licence) ABILITIES, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Compulsory Sound knowledge and practical application of asset management systems, processes, and techniques to support effective planning, maintenance, and optimisation of Council assets Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult, liaise, and build professional partnerships across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated keyboard and computer skills, including the effective use of asset management and GIS programs to support data analysis and reporting Demonstrated intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access, to enable robust data management, modelling, and reporting Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively within a team environment to achieve organisational objectives Sound knowledge of, and commitment to, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) principles and practices, ensuring compliance and fostering a safe, inclusive workplace.
