About the Role We’re looking for a highly organised Lead to join our Competitions Administration & Systems (CAS) team. This role sits at the heart of the Sydney Royal Easter Show and our year-round Sydney Royal competitions – from animals and agriculture through to arts & crafts, food, flower & garden, woodchopping and more. You’ll make sure entries, results and information are accurate, exhibitor enquiries are handled smoothly, and key deadlines are met during both show and non-show periods. You’ll work closely with Competition Leads, Coordinators, and Event Managers, help maintain and improve our competitions database, support system rollouts and updates, and supervise casual team members during busy periods. You’ll also help keep our procedures, service agreements and training materials current as we continue to refine how we deliver competitions at the RAS. Key Responsibilities Partner with Competition Leads, Coordinators, and Event Managers to manage entries, transactions and results, delivering accurate, timely outcomes. Provide data administration and customer service to Competition Sections; supervise casual Show team members in the office and on-site during peak periods. Configure and maintain the competitions database; ensure information is current and accurate; generate reports. Coordinate activities covered by service agreements and keep agreement documentation up to date. Participate in database UAT (user acceptance testing) and support system rollouts. Keep process manuals and user guides up to date; assist Exhibitors and train Competition Officials. Promote safe work practices and contribute to a positive, practical team culture. Hours & flexibility: Core hours are 8:30am–5:00pm with flexibility. Additional hours will be required in the lead-up to and during the Sydney Royal Easter Show and other RAS events. About You You’re a detail-focused administrator who likes seeing things run properly behind the scenes. You’ll be comfortable with busy periods, troubleshooting small issues before they become big ones, and helping others stay organised. You enjoy clear processes, but you’re also happy to adapt when things change. You’ll bring: Strong customer service and communication skills. A calm, organised approach, even when there are competing deadlines. Experience working collaboratively, plus confidence to work independently and take ownership. Experience supervising a small team and coordinating workloads. Confidence learning and using systems, and turning procedures into clear guides and checklists. An interest in or willingness to learn what there is to learn on agricultural competitions and events. Qualifications & Experience Essential Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience (2 years) in business, administration and/ or events coordination. Confidence using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (Intermediate). Strong written and verbal English; demonstrated customer service experience. Desirable Experience supervising a small team. Experience creating or updating user guides, process manuals or training materials. Why Join the RAS?
