As a part of this growth, a newly created position is now available for an experienced, commercially astute Management Accountant, who will be able to support the business through their next growth phase. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will manage a team of 3 direct reports and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations for ANZ, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and financial governance. It is envisaged you will be Tertiary Qualified and have 5 years’ experience in a Commercial Accounting role, ideally within the FMCG sector or similar. CA or CPA Qualifications will be highly regarded. Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial statements. Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts. Responsible for overseeing GST, PAYE, FBT, and other statutory returns. Oversee shipment receipting, landed-costing analysis and GRNI (stock clearing) entries & reconciliation. Support audit preparation and ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies and relevant standards (IFRS). Prepare monthly management reports and ensure accurate journal entries, accruals and reconciliations, with timely & accurate month-end closes Lead annual budgeting processes and analyse performance across business units. Provide insights and commentary on trends, variances, and cost drivers, & propose corrective actions where necessary Manage cashflow forecasting, working closely with department managers to improve cost & efficiency management in all cost aspects, and highlight forward issues & overall forward funding requirements Monitor actuals vs. budget/forecast and provide timely reports highlighting risks and opportunities. Work with external accounting, audit, and tax teams to compile year-end accounts packages. Mentor and support finance team to manage data and transactions that feed into the monthly process Ongoing Systems & process improvement Skills and Experience: Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance, with CPA or CA qualifications preferable Demonstrated Accounting experience ideally within the FMCG, Wholesale/Retail sector A track record of providing strategic financial and operational leadership Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in preparing reports and presentations for C Suite management Strong analytical, financial modelling and problem-solving ability Proven ability to understand key financial and business variables in a complex and changing commercial environment Demonstrated experience managing risk and compliance Positive can-do, willing and flexible attitude Ability to deliver results and set your own and the team’s goal Results driven, with a high level of commercial acumen Highly computer literate in Excel, Accounting Software & ERP systems MUST be a NZ Citizen or have Permanent Residency and full NZ working rights.
