How this position will make a difference to the City of Parramatta This position is responsible for leading the programming and delivery of entertainment and public event experiences for the City of Parramatta’s Events & Festivals team. This is achieved through the annual program by delivering high quality events that foster positive reputation and outcomes for the City of Parramatta. This role will balance out-of-hours work requirements and daily work priorities within Council’s flexible workplace policies. On a daily basis you will : Produce and manage the delivery of major public events and festivals within the annual program, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, event briefs, and project management frameworks. Act as project lead for Council’s Events & Festivals teams and external contractors, driving collaboration and ensuring successful execution of events from concept to completion. Generate innovative ideas to enhance event programming and contribute to broader strategic planning, supporting the overall vision of the Events & Festivals program. Apply Council’s endorsed project management framework to deliver events on time and within budget, while adhering to procurement policies and relevant legislation. Collaborate with marketing teams to develop event-specific communications, and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, suppliers, government authorities, and venue partners to ensure seamless event delivery. About You The successful candidate should have tertiary qualifications, such as Marketing, Event Management, Communications, Hospitality (or related discipline) or another relevant qualification and significant amount of relevant event programming experience (typically 5 years). You will also bring: Proven experience delivering successful large public or private events, or similar activities or projects in the arts, cultural or related fields, demonstrating skills in complex project management and project leadership. Comprehensive understanding of the production aspects of large-scale public events. Comprehensive knowledge of the entertainment and events industry, artists, performers, booking agencies etc. Time management and project management skills to take responsibility for multiple projects simultaneously and competing demands and deadlines. Coordination of staff and providing oversight and coordination of contractors, casual staff and volunteers Budget preparation and reconciliation, financial control and the management of scarce resources. What’s on offer We are offering a 21-hour permanent part time opportunity, with an attractive remuneration from $104,610.61 (pro-rata) plus 12% superannuation. The successful candidate will be expected to work across 3 days during the week.
