How this position will make a difference to the City of Parramatta This position is responsible for delivering the City of Parramatta’s Live Music Program, ensuring high-quality experiences that support local artists, activate public spaces, and contribute to the city’s cultural vibrancy. The role will lead planning, coordination, and delivery of live music events and initiatives aligned with Council’s strategic objectives. On a daily basis you will: Curate and deliver live music for major events and activations Secure and contract artists, agents, and venues Oversee staging, sound, lighting, safety, and licensing Manage budgets, timelines, and project reporting Build stakeholder relationships to grow Parramatta’s music scene Develop and implement the annual program aligned with Council strategy Coordinate delivery for flagship events (NYE, Parramatta Lanes) and smaller activations Ensure compliance with legislation, permits, and risk management Monitor and report on performance, engagement, and expenditure About You The successful candidate should have previous experience in live music programming and event production, with a strong understanding of the music industry and cultural event delivery. You will also bring: Experience: Proven track record in producing live music events or festivals. Experience working with artists, technical crews, and cultural stakeholders. Budget management and contract negotiation skills. Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Event Management, Arts Management, Music Industry, or related field (or equivalent experience). Current NSW Driver’s Licence. Skills: Excellent organisational and project management skills. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Knowledge of WHS, risk management, and licensing requirements for live music events. Ability to work under pressure and deliver multiple projects simultaneously. What’s on offer This is a Part Time term opportunity up to April 2026 working 2 days a week. We are offering an attractive remuneration from $104,610.61 to $115,174.86 (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation.
