QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities. About the role You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry and the position will focus on ensuring the services provided meet quality and value for money expectations of clients. Duties and skills involved: Produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for maintenance contracts and building projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations and project trade packages, including material lists and construction programs. Provide a level of supervisory services related to delivery of maintenance contracts, construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken by QBuild, including assisting in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors. Coordinate and undertake the delivery of a high-quality condition assessment services for QBuild's clients, including inspections/surveys of building elements and construction materials including collecting samples of suspected asbestos containing materials for laboratory testing. Undertake inspection services including tenancy management services and maintenance referrals on behalf of Government Employee Housing. Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety. Ensure application of Safety Management System. Promoting QBuild products and services to existing and prospective clients through regular meetings and established forums and identifying opportunities for new business services based on emerging economic, legislative and environmental programs. Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff. Additional Requirements Current Workplace Health and Safety General Safety Induction Card and current drivers' licence are mandatory. Thorough knowledge of building construction and maintenance legislative and regulatory requirements, principles and practices and contract procedures highly desirable but not mandatory.
