A leading Australian infrastructure company is seeking a Financial Accountant for a January-start contract role. A fantastic opportunity exists for a Financial Accountant to join a growing organisation on a 4-month contract starting in January. This business plays a critical role in Australia's connectivity, managing tower and rooftop-based assets that keep people connected every day. This role is ideal for a technically strong accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working behind the scenes to deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and support operational decision-making. What you'll do: Own month-end and year-end reporting including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments. Handle lease accounting under IFRS 16, from identifying leases, calculating right-of-use assets and lease liabilities, to preparing journal entries, depreciation and interest expense adjustments. Prepare financial statements and statutory accounts Work with management to assess lease contracts, apply accounting judgement and ensure compliance with accounting standards Act as the key contact for external auditors during audit What we're looking for: CA/ CPA qualified At least 4 years' accounting experience in a commercial environment (infrastructure experience preferred) Proven lease-accounting experience under IFRS 16, including lease identification, calculations, journal entries and disclosure Strong technical accounting skills and sound understanding of statutory reporting requirements Proficiency with large ERP systems and solid Excel skills.
