SCONE Permanent Full Time – 35 Hours per week The role: In this key position, you will coordinate and deliver high-level strategic advice, business support, and planning activities across Council. A key focus of the role is leading Council’s strategic planning responsibilities, including stewardship of the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework, and ensuring the timely preparation, facilitation, and delivery of Council’s statutory reports and documents. You will oversee Council’s governance functions to enhance compliance whilst ensuring efficiency in Council’s processes. This includes providing comprehensive advice to Council staff and Councilors to ensure they are equipped to perform their roles efficiently and in alignment with legislative requirements. The role also delivers expert services and guidance across risk management, policy development, audit, compliance, insurance, and Freedom of Information. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the legislative, regulatory, and operational context in which councils operate. Strong knowledge and practical experience in risk management principles - including fostering a positive risk culture - and corporate governance, with demonstrated capability in overseeing related frameworks. Proven ability to meet compliance obligations while delivering practical, business-focused outcomes that add value to the organisation. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, enabling professional and effective engagement with colleagues, stakeholders, Elected Members, and the community.
