The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent expert regulator for health and safety, structural integrity, well integrity and environmental management for all offshore energy operations and greenhouse gas storage activities in Commonwealth waters, and in coastal waters where regulatory powers and functions have been conferred. Role: Reporting to the Assistant Director - Communications and External Affairs, this role will support a range of communications, media, and external affairs activities. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain effective, professional relationships and offer creative solutions, project support and communication guidance. The key duties of the position include Key Responsibilities: As a skilled Communications and External Affairs Officer, you will assist in the management and maintenance of the content for NOPSEMA's intranet and external facing websites and writing and editing content for electronic and print communications. You will assist in preparation and design of internal and external communications material including brochures, presentations, newsletter articles and regulatory publications. You will also assist with the management of NOPSEMA's photograph database, contacts databases, and communications shared mailbox. In this role, you will prepare correspondence that is audience appropriate and reinforces NOPSEMA's key messages and respond to stakeholder related matters and assist with managing stakeholder expectations. The successful applicant will provide logistical support in event management including developing agendas, invitee lists, sourcing venues for conferences, workshops, and forums and assisting with procurement processes. Your role will also cover providing support for inquires to the parliamentary services teams. We would like to hear from you if: You have demonstrated experience in similar communications roles, with website content management systems and desktop publication and graphic design programs. You also possess experience in preparing written communication that is appropriate and tailored for the intended audience. You have the ability to engage a varied audience and can work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate flexibility in event coordination with managing competing priorities in a vibrant environment. You have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills and the ability to think creatively and be proactive in keeping abreast of communication channels and relevant legislation, policies and best practices in communication activities.
