About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Financial Operations Officer (APS4) to join a Federal Government agency in Canberra for 6-month non-ongoing (possible extension). You’ll play a key role in supporting the organisation’s Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Card and Travel functions within a professional and supportive finance team. This position offers exposure across multiple finance functions and the opportunity to develop your skills within a high-performing public sector environment. Key Responsibilities Credit Cards Process corporate card applications and cancellations Create and delete travel profiles Manage day-to-day credit card administration Accounts Receivable Create and issue invoices Receipt daily transactions Accounts Payable Prepare payrun proposals Action invoices received and follow up on returned remittances Reconcile statements and assist with vendor queries General Assist team leaders with ad-hoc financial tasks Manage helpdesk queries across finance areas About You We’re looking for someone who brings: Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Travel or Credit Card administration Experience using SAP (FMIS) — highly desirable Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt positively to change Security clearance (Baseline or above) or the ability to obtain one quickly What’s in it for You Work in a central Canberra office Join a collaborative and supportive finance team Opportunity to rotate across finance functions and broaden your experience 6-month initial contract with the possibility of extension How to Apply If you’re an experienced finance professional ready to step into a varied APS4-level role within the Federal Government, we’d love to hear from you!
