The Opportunity There are several APS6 vacancies within the Internal Budget and Reporting team, offering a good opportunity to join a respected department. These positions are available as initial 12-month non-ongoing contracts, with the potential to transition to permanent roles as the positions are currently vacant. Alternatively, an ongoing APS6 employee may be considered for an s26 transfer. You will work closely with an experienced and supportive Director with strong tenure in the department, making this an excellent chance to further develop your APS career. The Role Key responsibilities include: Preparing and coordinating internal budgets, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities and financial policies Monitoring financial performance and providing insights to support effective planning and decision making Analysing and validating financial data to maintain accuracy and reliability across reports and systems Developing and delivering advice on complex budget matters to stakeholders within the department Offering guidance on internal budgeting practices, financial policy and reporting requirements The Ideal Person You will have a sound understanding of budgeting principles within the APS, along with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. You may come from one of the following backgrounds: Experience working in a Big 4 or consulting firm with federal government clients Proven APS6-level experience in internal or capital budgeting or finance business partnering, with stable tenure and a strong performance record Management accounting experience in a large commercial organisation, with a baseline security clearance To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen and hold a current Baseline security clearance.
