SIMPEC have been awarded the main procurement and construction contract for the residue filtration stage 2 project at Alcoa's Pinjarra Alumina Refinery, which will involve delivering infrastructure and services to increase processing capacity to convert bauxite residue into filter cake. We are currently seeking a Senior SMP Project engineer to commence ASAP initially from our head office (Applecross) until mobilisation to site in the new year where you would be based for the remainder of the project. Duration: Approximately 18 months Roster: Monday – Friday (Some Saturdays will be required) DIDO Daily Hours: Monday to Thursday - 10 hours per day, Friday - 8 hours, Saturday (When required on-site) - 8 hours The Role: Implementing, maintaining, coordinating, and expediting the procurement and construction elements for the designated work area. Provide direction and support to site team of engineers for the execution of the project. Identifying and resolving technical engineering issues and associated problems which may arise throughout the duration of the project. Creating work packs, test packs; estimation & site variations. Presenting project progress updates to senior management and clients. Daily interaction with clients to interpret their engineering requirements and represent them and executing them in the field. Strong and effective relationship with the Project Manager and other participants on site in order to provide optimal levels of day-to-day assistance and technical support. Contribute, as required, to the compilation of the project MDR and closeout of the project. About You: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role in Mining Construction – involving structural steel erection, mechanical and piping installation. Ability to effectively work autonomously within a collaborative team, be proactive and able to take initiative. Well-developed interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels. Proficiency in modelling and drawing software such as Naviswork Simulate, MS Project and/or Bluebeam. Basic knowledge on AutoCAD and P6, desirable. Experienced in managing, raising, and responding to RFI’s and TQ’s. Contractor side experience in SMP construction projects. If this sounds like you then apply now, we would love to hear from you!
