Our client owns and operates assets worth over $3.6 billion, comprising the ACT’s network of dams, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pumping stations, mains and other related infrastructure. The Opportunity Start ASAP in this contract role and support and drive risk and audit during a leave period. You’ll be working in a highly commercial, mature and well-respected Canberra based organisation. While this is an initial 4-month contract, there are potential extension options. The Role This role will be working across both Internal Audit and Risk Branches, under the direction of the Manager. The role will provide support within internal audit services and will also look to provide expertise and support around risk management framework and fraud control processes. Key accountabilities: Conduct, lead and contribute to compliance and performance internal audits including planning, fieldwork, and reporting in accordance with the agreed audit plan and requirements of the relevant internal procedures Assist with the implementation of the annual internal audit program and strategy Provide regular status reports to the Manager Internal Audit and Quality on the overall internal audit program Responsible for updating, monitoring, and follow up of internal and external audit findings and recommendations within Icon Water’s internal systems and provision of regular status reports to the Manager of Internal Audit and Quality Prepare reports in relation to internal audit activities and risk management activities The Person You will be well experienced across internal audit, contract management and risk, preferably in a commercial environment. Given the initial short-term nature of this role, you will need to be able to hit the ground running with minimal training and support, applying your expertise to add value to the team/s. You will have initiative and enthusiasm for project work and happy to work both independently and within a team. With excellent stakeholder engagement and strong report writing, you will provide sound advice and support to business units on risk management activities, as well as facilitate workshops.
