The primary goal of GTS is to accelerate well-being and growth by transforming the core, enabling patient, people, and partner outcomes, and building future-ready operations. The strategy of GTS focuses on aligning goals and promoting collaboration across all organizational areas. This includes fostering shared ownership, developing flexible platforms that can easily scale to meet global demands, and implementing global standards for key processes to ensure efficiency and consistency. At Resmed, we are changing lives with every breath â we improve patient quality of life, prevent chronic disease progression and reduce healthcare system costs. The Platform Security Teamâs mission is to improve the security posture of Resmed's environments and software services with an opinionated, yet empathetic security experience that avoids surprise, balances usability with security, and abstracts the complexities of modern security practices to accelerate the pace of Resmedâs next generation Healthcare Informatics platform . As an Associate Software Engineer in platform security, you must have a keen interest in the innerworkings of infrastructure and applications, and derive satisfaction in clean, easy to use solutions to complicated problems. You will work closely with a talented team to contribute key features to our products. Our Ideal Candidate Is curious about how systems fail, can be abused, and how secure building blocks make development easier Enjoys backend/infrastructure work (cloud resources, containers, APIs) and is eager to learn secure patterns from senior engineers Writes clear, readable code with basic tests and asks questions early when stuck Considers reliability, maintainability, and simplicity as part of âdoneâ Researches independently, communicates blockers quickly, and seeks feedback to improve Values craftsmanship: incremental refactors, small PRs, clear commit messages, improving docs Comfortable experimenting, then documenting what was learned (open transparent approach) Interested in modern delivery practices (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes), and emerging tech (LLMs, policy as code) Sees this role as a path toward owning broader designs and influencing developer experience in the future Responsibilities and Accountabilities Implement secure platform features (e.g. reusable auth modules, network configuration modules, policy as code) under mentorship Assist in design discussionsâasking clarifying questions, providing researched options, and summarizing tradeâoffs Develop software, automation, and infrastructure that is tested, observable, and continuously deployable Participate actively in code reviewsâapplying team standards, learning patterns, and sharing small improvements Maintain and improve developer documentation and quickâstart guides that remove friction Proactively respond to feedback on your componentsâtriage issues, prioritize fixes, and improve usability Provide input that helps shape roadmap items focused on security and developer experience Eagerly collaborate crossâteam to learn domain specifics and grow your skills Uphold secure coding practices such as least privilege, development hygiene, and security scanning Continuously learn new platform technologies and adapt as tooling evolves Qualifications and Experience BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience with a security interest Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, TypeScript, or Java) and Git fundamentals (branching, PRs) Experience (projects, internship, or lab) with basic cloud concepts (IAM roles/policies, networking primitives) OR containerization Ability to write unit tests and explain testing vs. validation plus familiarity with CI basics Understanding of secure coding fundamentals (input validation, dependency hygiene, logging without leaking secrets) Clear verbal and written communication; comfortable stating âI donât know yetâ Foundational cryptography concepts (encryption vs. hashing, keys vs. secrets) Interest in Kubernetes basics (Pods, Deployments, Services), ingress controllers, service meshes Awareness of Infrastructure as code (Terraform/CDK) and policy as code is an asset Awareness of API auth patterns (OAuth2/OIDC and AuthN/AuthZ) and gateway/WAF concepts is an asset Awareness of network security notions (microâsegmentation, zero trust approaches, SDN security) is an asset Knowledge of source control workflows (trunk vs. GitFlow), automated quality gates (lint, SAST) is an asset LI-APAC Joining us is more than saying âyesâ to making the world a healthier place.
