About Yornaning Farms Our client Yornaning Farms is a large-scale, integrated farming enterprise with a thriving piggery currently operating at 400 sows, with expansion plans to 600 sows and an additional neighbouring lease bringing the total to 900 sows. The farm also operates broadacre cropping and stockfeed manufacturing enterprises, making it a dynamic and diverse agricultural operation. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pig Farmer to join their team in Yornaning, Western Australia. This is a hands-on role suited for someone passionate about animal welfare, productivity, and maintaining the highest standards of livestock farming. About the Role As a Pig Farmer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care, breeding, and management of pigs to ensure their health and optimal production levels in line with biosecurity, animal welfare, and workplace safety standards. Key Responsibilities Daily feeding, watering, and monitoring of pigs. Monitoring pig health, administering vaccinations and medication as required. Assisting in breeding programs, including artificial insemination and farrowing supervision. Cleaning and maintaining pig pens, sheds, and equipment. Recording animal data including weight, health status, and reproduction records. Identifying and reporting signs of illness or distress. Ensuring compliance with animal welfare, environmental, and biosecurity regulations. Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment. Maintaining hygiene and safety standards at all times. Essential Requirements At least 2 years' full-time experience in commercial pig farming or relevant livestock management. Sound knowledge of pig handling, breeding, and husbandry practices. Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor, potentially dirty or noisy environments. Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required. Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Desirable Qualifications Degree or higher in Agriculture or Animal Husbandry (preferred but not essential).
